Perhaps I can help you in this regard: I have been active as an arbitrator or mediator in commercial law disputes for almost 30 years. Since 2018, I have been working almost exclusively as a neutral third party. Until then, I was a lawyer and partner at the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP for more than 20 years and was also active as a party representative in proceedings before state courts and arbitration tribunals. In doing so, I have gained broad experience in commercial disputes.

In recent years, my work as an arbitrator or mediator has focused on allegations of product liability, technical problems in ongoing operations, the renegotiation or termination of long-term research and supply agreements, shareholder disputes, disputes within and between committees and the resolution of differences between shareholders.

I have acted as arbitrator in over 100 arbitration proceedings and as counsel in around 40 arbitration proceedings. My work as an arbitrator at the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne has contributed to the high number of arbitration mandates. Proceedings concerning the manipulation of soccer matches or the status of associations, for example, have attracted public attention.

I have also acted as a mediator in over 100 cases. After initial experience as a co-mediator in a court-connected program in the USA (1995-1997), I have worked as a mediator in a wide variety of industries and contexts in Switzerland and abroad in addition to my work as a lawyer.
